As promised, here are some pictures of Italy. I went to Rome and Florence over my spring vacation just so I could take them for you. You’re welcome!
These photos are just a drop in the bucket. From Rome, I included the Vatican, the Colosseum and the Roman ruins. From Florence, I included one of the main streets and the river. I’m not great with food pics, so these pictures of Italy are just landscapes. If you are looking for drool-worthy Italian food, click here. Otherwise, enjoy!
As a note, this was my first time in both Rome and Florence. I was surprised by how hard it was to get around Rome. I’m a New Yorker and I’m used to big cities. Rome is exhausting. I overestimated the amount of walking I could do. And it’s worth noting: it’s surprisingly easy to find bad food there. If I had it to do over again, I would plan a little better.
Florence is MUCH smaller. I didn’t feel like I needed much of a plan there. I was happy to wonder and sit by the river. Shopping in the leather goods market is a great experience. The food there is amazing. It was easier to find good choices with less preparation.
The two cities are easy to travel between on the train. I would recommend visiting both!
