You know its summer when they change the mannequins at the mall right?
Let’s take a look at some of the clothes that have been popping up for summer 2015.
Summer Fashion 2015
Is it just me or did Laura Ashley throw up all over the spring runways H&M collections? Over here in Spain we are deeply rooted in some late 1990’s, flowers and floppy hats, Blossom-type fashion statements. (What up Mayim Bialik!) Not that I am complaining! I, for one, did not look nearly as adorable in flower prints when I was nine as I (think I) do now.
In the interest of trying to stay fashionable moderately fashionable fully clothed in the coming months, I am having these deep thoughts as I caffeinate myself for some spring shopping (the fabulous, drunk sister of spring cleaning). In my 9 AM, 5-dollar-latte infused haze, I’m hoping this will be the year my “sense of style” will extend beyond solid color cotton t-shirts and cheap flats. A girl can dream, right?
Here are the things I like to keep in mind while I’m looking at the sale rack.
Summer Fashion 2015 Checklist
- Buy minimal trends. I know what I like and what I feel comfortable in. I may try a few trend pieces, but usually I stick with more classic styles. Also, bonus points for making a list before you go shopping. It helps me keep track of what I really need. (Protip: See other thoughts on boosting life productivity here)
- Stay comfortable. Both in shopping and in what you buy. I can’t deal with tight pants, itchy tops or high heels. I stay away from them. Comfort is fabulous.
- Try to buy sustainable. The clothing industry has a horrifying effect on the environment. Look for sustainable fabrics wherever you can. Ask your favorite stores why they don’t provide more sustainable options. And remember-less is more.
Wish me luck!
