Micro Victories

Hello from WORDPRESS! This gorgeous new website is going on my micro victories list for the year. How did I acheive such a monumental feat, you ask? It started, as most good things do, with a vacation. About two days weeks ago, I awoke from my winter Netflix coma and realized it was time to go on spring vacation. Turns out, I needed those ten days in Sicily to get out of my productivity slump. ‘Productivity slumps’ in my life are tricky. I am employed full time. End of School Questions

The end of school was yesterday in Madrid.  Each year this generates procrastination and despair over grading creative inspiration and time to consider blog fodder. (For notes from a previous year, click here) This year, as I cleaned out my desk, I found myself avoiding grading my finals asking some important self-knowledge questions: Important End Of School Questions 1.  Do people in other professions love office supplies the way teachers do?  My favorite are binder clips!! 2014: Year of Bliss

 Shoes are fabulous

Already, not even 20 hours into the new year, I find I am struggling with how to make 2014 my year of bliss. Going out to mimosa brunch and discussing (loudly, in front if small children) how to make the year suck less d*** than 2013 led to some revelations on my part.  I think bliss, much like fabulousness, is a simple question of attitude. In order to have a wonderful year, I need to put on my best heels, smile and get ready to boogie down.
