Hi reader, Last night I saw the Metropolitan Opera production of Donzetti’s Elixir of Love. Written in the 1831, the story centers around the quest of Nemorino, a young village guy in rural Italy, as she tries to win the heart of Adina, a successful farm owner. While Adina is busy falling for an obnoxious, self-important army general, a traveling salesman passes through town peddling…..you guessed it….a magical Elixir of Love. New Years Resolutions
Hi readers, I want to talk about New Years Resolutions. Here’s why: First of all, I’m sitting in the airport waiting for a much-delayed flight back to freezing cold NYC and I need something to distract me from watching the poorly-attended-to children wreaking havoc on the terminal. Second of all, it’s New’s Years Day and ringing in the holiday with a peaceful, quiet evening in Florida gave me lots of time to reflect on resolutions of years gone by.
