Micro Victories

Hello from WORDPRESS! This gorgeous new website is going on my micro victories list for the year. How did I acheive such a monumental feat, you ask? It started, as most good things do, with a vacation. About two days weeks ago, I awoke from my winter Netflix coma and realized it was time to go on spring vacation. Organization

Below is a short list of things in my life I desperately need to get organized. Please keep in mind, organization is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. These are not activities I can organize once, like a spice rack. These are ‘making-the-bed’ type organization things. In my opinion, they need to be focused on for a few minutes each day. Otherwise, you might find yourself awake at 5 AM, locked in the following triptych thought pattern: First, frantic with concern over where you put your Spanish homework. The Problem with To Do Lists

As a consummate planner, it may surprise you that I found a problem with ‘to-do’ lists. I know! I hear you gasping in surprise. Yes, ‘to-do’ lists are GREAT in many ways. My to-do list each day includes items from “drink coffee” to “plan summer” (the latter obvious must be broken down into several obsessive compulsive sub-categories including plane tickets, hotel reservations, and Facetime conversations with friends so I can beg to sleep on their floors.  Love you guys!) Today’s subject: the best way to buy plane tickets.  The epitome of first-world, white-girl stress.  Read along with the following scenario: Initial Plane Ticket Scenario Sunday 10:00 PM: In review of long and treacherous week ahead, count vacation day stockpile.  Realization of 10 hours accumulated vacation time.  Feeling of joy! Enthusiastically decide to go to Jersey Shore Kiawah Island for a few days.  Go to bed happily counting the calories you will consume in the next two weeks in order to fit into bathing suit.
